I K W Theory of Education

I K W Theory of Education
Education is an integrated part of our life. Many times, primarily it is treated as the means of safeguarding the livelihood by way of grabbing good career opportunities. Therefore the success of education is always connected with the kind of placement and the amount of package. The second offshoot of success of education is entrepreneurship. Then after the other facets of life, for example, happiness, satisfaction, creation etc. come into picture. The fraternity of ‘Teachers’ is supposed to be responsible for imparting education. Schools, colleges and universities are considered to be the main centers of education sector. In short, right now, education is considered to be a training, to be given by teachers, which can imbibe a skillset within the learner and prepares him for definite survival with the help of materialistic achievements in life.
In my opinion, “Education is a Journey from Information to Knowledge and from Knowledge to Wisdom”. Therefore it’s a lifelong journey having its destination – ‘Wisdom’. In these days, information is readily available and easily accessible. If we visit any search engine, we find that it is available on fingertip. There is downpour of information from which one has to search the elements of knowledge. Knowledge can be taught and learned in classes and laboratories. A judicious combination of five senses can be deployed for gaining knowledge, but the same logic cannot be applied to Wisdom. This is because Wisdom has to be earned. It can be earned only through experiences. Experience is an outcome of experiments. Therefore Experiments form the most important milestone in this journey. In the process of education, experiments can be planned in such a fashion that, at length, it will lead to gain of experience.
The best way of learning is to learn through our own experience provided we should afford to do so. Otherwise we have to learn from other’s experiences that are available in literature. While carrying out experiments in this manner, many times we fail. The failure triggers the urge of gaining experience and acts as a fuel to carry out further experiments till we succeed. Therefor it is said that “We Learn from Failures”. Gathering of such small moments of success ultimately emerge into a habit of learning new things. Novelty becomes the sole of creativity. Therefore, in technical education, it becomes necessary to “Empower Creativity Through Technical Excellence”.
Thus, when education is carried out in this manner, it turns into enjoyment rather than simply burden, and enhances understanding. This is because, Liking and Understanding go hand in hand”. Since, if you like the things, you will understand it or if you understand the things, you will like it. Sometimes a complex situation arises, wherein; the learner neither likes nor understands the things. But then, somewhere he has to begin either with forceful liking or understanding. And here the teachers have to play a vital role. A teacher should utmost try to bring the student into the flow of learning. Therefore the success of education does not merely lie into successful teaching but it mainly lies into successful learning. Wish you all “Happy Learning”.
